Tidal Flooding on the Jakarta Coast is Under Control, Pramono Says

"I already instructed related agency to prune prone to fall trees. Actually, it has been conducted in every area," he said, Tuesday (12/16).

Pramono stated that extreme weather phenomena like tornadoes are difficult to predict precisely, both in terms of direction and location. He cited the recent incidents that struck the Ancol and Sunda Kelapa areas as examples.

Pramono emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government remains on alert for the BMKG forecast for the next week.

Pramono also confirmed that all relevant regional agencies have been asked to be alert to the potential for other hydrometeorological disasters.

"Once again, Jakarta has prepared itself, anticipated, including if, as predicted by the BMKG, a tornado or something like that happens," Pramono admitted.

As for information, based on BMKG forecasts, extreme weather conditions, including strong winds in Jakarta, still have the potential to continue until around December 21, 2025. Therefore, the public is advised to remain alert to impacts such as fallen trees, flooding, and other disruptions to activities.
